Trump's campaign promises to fight terrorism and its following implementation in the first two years in the office

In my bachelor thesis, I tried to answer my main hypothesis, which was that presidential candidates give many promises during their campaigns and they are not able to fulfill them after taking the office because of missing competences. Sometimes it is not even technically possible. I tried to apply this theory on the campaign of Donald Trump, especially on three promises that were focused on fighting terrorism in the United States. To achieve my goal I examined the promises Trump gave during tha campaign. After that I focused on the steps taken by Trump since his inauguration in January 2017 until the middle of his term in January 2019. The first promise I focused on was "closing parts of the internet where ISIS is". The only one step Trump did in this area was signing a statement in which he and the G7 leaders called for intensifying the pressure from social media to combat online terrorism. From a technical point of view, this promise has been problematic from the beginning. The first problem was the fact that Trump did not have sufficient competence to fulfill it. Second problem was the first amendment to the US Constitution. It protects freedom of speech and closing parts of the Internet would disrupt these freedoms. American DREAM Act: Final Solution?

This thesis describes DREAM Act, a legislative proposal discussed in the US Congress between 2001 and 2011. The Act proposes a pathway to legal citizenship for children of undocumented immigrants. The thesis aims to find whether the children of illegal immigrants should be held accountable and face deportations, even though they were not responsible for entering the U.S. illegally? It also discusses whether implementation of the DREAM Act is a convenient solution of governmental reform of the broken immigration system. The first chapter describes the DREAM Act in greater detail and compares it to the presidential executive order DAPA, a similar program to DREAM Act providing deferred action on deportation for these children. The second chapter focuses on impact of immigrants, their legal consciousness and tells stories of undocumented children who crossed the U.S. border and describes their lives in the U.S. The third chapter's focus is on impact on the U.S. society, mainly discusses the economic potential of the DREAM Act implementation. Last chapter provides an analysis of DREAM Act in the State of New York and activities of undocumented students fighting for its enactment. Impact of the National Ocean Policy in the United States

This thesis analyzes the newly established U.S. National Ocean Policy. Through a content analysis of all obtained sources concerning the opinions on the policy, the main hypothesis is either confirmed or disproved. It can be assumed that Republicans would oppose this policy from obvious ideological reasons, whilst Democrats would support this policy, because it originated from their administrative and follows their positive approach to environmental issues. The ocean is not only for the United States, but also for the whole world an important source of food and various minerals, affects weather, produces a great amount of oxygen and absorbs noticeable amount of pollutants. Its economic potential for the United States is imperative and the worsening conditions of the ocean ecosystems represent an enormous potential threat to the future economic prosperity of the United States. President Barack Obama reinforced this ocean policy, which should response to the worsening conditions of the ocean, aim focus on the improvements of the ocean management and simultaneously enhance the protection of the ocean ecosystems.
